Why HMS exists

Two university friends, one shared frustration.

Happy Mind Society began when Alana Robinson and Kirsty Hawker met at university while studying psychology and counselling. Their BSc studies gave them common ground — and a shared concern about how hard it was to find trustworthy, evidence-informed support online.

Too much wellbeing advice felt either clinical and unreachable, or confident but poorly grounded. They set out to build something more useful: warm, plain-language courses, workbooks, and tools that respect the science without losing sight of the person using them.

HMS is educational rather than clinical. It helps people understand their patterns, reflect without shame, and find practical next steps at a pace that feels manageable.

Understanding a pattern is not the same as being stuck with it.

That is the centre of the work: enough insight to make room, enough structure to know what to try next, and a pace you can realistically stay with.
